Juan Miguel tells Cecilia that Patricio has had a heart attack. Estefanía is found guilty, but she escapes from the police station and goes to Amador's apartment, where she meets Candelaria and Marichuy.

Juan Miguel asks Marichuy for an explanation of how she lost her son. Upset, he tells her that if anything happens to his son, she will be the only one responsible. Patricio leaves the hospital to look for his grandson.

Patricio and Cecilia visit Marichuy in the neighborhood and offer her their unconditional support. They also ask her to come live with them. Juan Miguel and Marichuy are closer to finding their son. Patricio and Cecilia testify against Estefanía.

Fermina and Pedro look for Juan Miguel to tell him that their son has been taken to a hospice. Juan Miguel goes to the hospice to look for Juanito, where a doctor informs him that the baby's in critical condition. Marichuy testifies against Estefanía.

Juan Miguel takes Juanito to the Velarde house and hands him over to Marichuy. Amador kidnaps Beatriz and her son, but unfortunately they suffer a car accident, and Amador is in critical condition at the hospital.

Dr. Durán invites Juan Miguel to work with him. Candelaria finds Marichuy's jewelry box in the trash. Patricio demands that Marichuy forget about Juan Miguel. Ana Julia takes Mayita away without warning, leaving everyone very distressed.

Ana Julia arrives with Mayita and lies that she had warned Candelaria. Juan Miguel's surgeries have failed, but Dr. Durán asks him not to give up. Ana Julia lies to Juan Miguel and Marichuy, creating false romances to separate them.

Juan Miguel achieves his first success in surgery. Amador wants to recover so he can take revenge. Marichuy assures Rocío that she no longer loves Juan Miguel. Ana Julia sends photos to Juan Miguel to make him believe that Marichuy is in love with her cousin.
